Fabric That Breathes Summer: Linen

All Linen Everything

Summer fashion can be tough. It’s hard to think about any trendy clothes when you are sweating non-stop. One simple step to stay cool in 108-degree weather? It’s all in the fabrics you wear.

My love for quality fabrics was inherited from my mom. She is a huge fan of sewing, so in my childhood I’d spend a lot of time with her in all sorts of fabric shops, touching them, feeling them. She’d always tell me about the benefits of each and every fabric, and since then before I bought anything (even in Zara), I’d always check the care label to see what are the materials.

Linen has always been a great material for summer, but it has been suspiciously absent in designers’ collections over the last few seasons, with the exception of the resort wear category.

By wearing tailored linen – which was a huge trend for SS18 – it’s an excellent way of showcasing the material in a different light. Like this Front Row linen suit that I’m wearing in this post, that can be worn separately on holidays and to the business meeting during the day.

Below, I’ve linked some of my favorite linen numbers. I hope you will like them too!

My Favourite Linen Pieces

"It's an elevated version of minimalism which works well alongside some of the more extreme trends – raw fabrics are more interesting and can also be so luxurious."
