One of the questions I get asked the most is ‘Why you did you become a blogger?’ and this is quite a long story. I never really thought that my life would that much connected to the fashion industry and it’s community, but I always had a passion for it. When I started working for a fashion start-up I found myself being surrounded by amazing, inspiring personalities that were in fashion industry for ages, they knew everything about it and some of them had ages of blogging experience. I was told so many things about blogging world, I was surprised by how many brands love to work with the bloggers and how high is the demand for the bloggers who make a quality content. Then I thought ‘I love fashion. I love photography. I absolutely love writing. How come I don’t have a blog?’, and this is when it all came to the reality.

My boyfriend is a developer, so we spent a couple of days on designing and building the first version of lolitamas.com. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a good platform to begin with. My blog will turn 2 years next October and my life has changed dramatically since my first post and I love those changes.

So, why I love blogging?

1. Networking

The first event I attended as a blogger was held in Manchester, in one of the coolest restaurants out there. To be honest, I didn’t know what to expect. I still had some stereotypes about fashion community and I believed that 80% of bloggers are competitive, judgy and are unpleasant with other bloggers. I was so wrong. Every time I go to event now, I’m almost sure that I will have the best time of my life – people there usually are super friendly and you have so many common interests that you chat about for hours, and I actually made a couple of good friends because of the events I attended.

2. OpportunitiesĀ

I know so much more about the brands I loved before becoming a blogger. The blog gives you an opportunity to connect with the brands and keep in touch, I was invited to a couple of head offices of the brands that I truly adore and this is super exciting to see how everything works inside. I also get to see the collections way beforehand they arrive to the stores and many other perks that in the past were only available for the press.

3. Hobby or Job?

I’m not a full-time blogger at the moment, this is why my blog is lacking a good schedule, but I do consider it as one of my part-time jobs. The amount of time, passion and effort I put into my blog are enormous, but this is a job that makes you happy and for me, editing photos, writing articles is a form of relaxation. This is the job I’m not getting tired of and it only brings me more inspiration after every single article I post.

4. Marketing Skills

My blog is also my platform for learning new things. I found out so many things about digital marketing because of my blog, and I always seek for new tools that will help me to measure the performance of my blog and my social media accounts.
