Burgundy Season

Red is officially the colour of the season.

The fiery shade dominated the autumn/winter 2017 shows, with brands such as Givenchy, Preen and Max Mara sending head-to-toe burgundy, wine and cerise looks down the runway. From tracksuits to coats, oversized knits and accessories, there’s an entry point for every lady in red this season.

And since I already incorporated bright red in most of my looks this Fall, today I decided to play around my other favourite shade: burgundy.

Last season burgundy was absolutely absent from my wardrobe and today this is the only colour I want to wear. I do believe that burgundy is easier to wear compared to red, it’s not that screaming and it’s so much easy to wear it to work or important meetings and generally, mix it into the casual looks. In my look, I decided to pair with my all-time fav and a staple of the season: checked blazer, the most comfortable ankle boots from Topshop, and a matchy corset belt from ASOS (I’m obsessed with it!).

However, blush & burgundy are considered as a power couple of a season. So if you want to properly dive into this trend, you should wear these 2 colours together. When these two hues combine, it’s pure magic. The pale pink helps to balance the richness of the burgundy – creating a perfect harmony.

But let me know what do you think about my styling in the comments below 🙂

Love, Lola x
