I know that it might be a bit too early to review Christmas sets, but considering all the stores putting on all of their festive decorations, I think it’s the right time. I was lucky to try one of the new Image Skincare Christmas sets and decide wether it’s a great present or not.

My first impressions from the gift set were really good, I liked the pouch that it comes with and I think it looks really cool and is perfect for travelling and a gym. I always loved the combination of black and gold, so it looks perfect to me. But let’s speak about the products in this set.
1. Iluma Intense Brightening Exfoliating Powder* | RRP £36
A uniquely luxurious polishing powder that gently cleanses and exfoliates all skin types. This ultrasoft micro-exfoliating blend removes debris and oil from pores while providing long-term hydration and anti-aging benefits. Contains a new generation of natural botanicals, enzymes and antioxidants to help skin reach a new level of radiance. Paraben free.
From the very beginning it reminded me of my beloved daily microfoliant by Dermologica. The idea is the same, the tube contains 37g of white powder that needs to be activated by rubbing it between damp palms. It should turn into white foam that is ready to be applied on your face. You should rub it in your skin by smooth circular movements. It left my skin smooth, illuminated and ready to absorb active ingredients in serums and repair crèmes.
By the way, it’s smell is something unreal, it actually has a smell of Christmas Cookies and I’m not joking right now. You can feel the notes of vanilla and ginger. I think it’s an ultimate product to boost your festive mood.
2. Vital C Hydrating Anti-Aging Serum | RRP £62.50
A hydrating serum that incorporates the new technology of oil-soluble Vitamin C with the highest bio-availability to immediately soothe the visible effects of environmentally damaged skin. Vitamins A, E and highly potent anti-oxidants nourish the skin to create a healthy, youthful glow.
Even though, the label on the bottle says that it’s a part of anti-aging line, it’s still suitable for all skin types. Vitamin C is known for helping to restore cell’s regeneration, however for allergic people, like me, I would recommend to be careful with this product, as Vitamin C overdose can also be a reason for redness and inflammation. I’ve been using this serum twice a week, and on other days I used serums that don’t contain Vitamin C.
As it was said before, even though it’s considered as ‘anti-aging’ products, it could be beneficial for many skin types. If you have dry and dehydrated skin it will help to promote healthy cell renewal. If your skin is sun damaged, this serum will fights free radicals, and finally if you are suffering from acne or eczema, this product will combat the dryness.
It’s a great product for a present, as it’s suitable for many skin types and concerns.
3. Prevention + Daily Hydrating Moisturiser | RRP £42
This lightweight daily moisturiser provides pure physical UVA/UVB broad spectrum sun protection with time released hydration and a DNA protection complex.
I was surprised that unlike many others sun protection creams, this one is not oily at all and it doesn’t feel sticky on your skin after you applied it. For me SPF30 is a bit too much, as in Manchester there are not so many sunny days, but I will keep it for my vacations.
Verdict
It’s safe to say that this gift set is quite universal, as it contains the products that will be beneficial for any skin type and for any age, so you can either gift it to your mother, to you sister, or to your friends, everyone will find something for themselves in this pretty black&gold pouch. I also like the fact that these 3 products are in fact a 3-step skincare system, that involves cleansing, nourishing and protection of your skin and all of these products could be used together.
