Latest In Beauty review/ The Dream Box II

‘Latest in Beauty’ is another website where you can buy beauty boxes. The only difference is that you don’t need to subscribe for them, it works as one-off purchase, which is really convenient for people who don’t like getting five lip balms in one month or tons anti-aging products, when you are only 17 years old – just don’t order that particular box, if you don’t like the contents (btw, they are always listed). Moreover, there is an option to build your own box! Which means you only get what you actually want to try.

When I came across this website I decided to give these boxes a try and ordered few of them straight away. The first one is called ‘The Dream Box II’ and the contents were carefully selected by the British Beauty Blogger, Jane Cunningham. I must admit that I like this box, I received 18  deluxe samples and travel-sized products that I would actually want to try, and some of them I even wanted to buy earlier, but wasn’t sure if they will fit me.

When release of this box was announced, the LIB website has crashed due to the high amount of requests and visits, I managed to buy it without any problems, but some people had to get themselves on the waiting list in order to buy it.

1.  Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Cream – Sample Size 15ml worth £4.80

I couldn’t wait to try this Vichy cream when I got it, it has a wonderful texture and absolutely suitable for people with oily skin, as it’s also very light and quick absorbing. When it comes to the winter day cream you need to be very careful to select one that would moisturise your skin for as long as possible, otherwise you will end up with dull look and tight feeling skin.  This cream is based on a thermal water and contains hyaluronic acid that minimises the appearance of wrinkles, and what is the most important – it’s paraben free. Woop Woop.

2.  Agent Provocateur Fatale – Sample Vial 2ml

It’s hard to get my attention when it comes to the new fragrances, but this one is actually very good. It contains some oriental notes and blend of interesting fragnances, such as  Madagascan pink pepper, succulent mango and blackcurrant to name a few. I might buy this one if I see it on sale someday.

3. Nude Skincare Pro Genius Treatment Oil – Deluxe Sample Size worth £20.00

I was excited to try that one, as it’s a signature Nude product and I’ve heard some really decent reviews on it. Also, getting a deluxe sample is such a treat,  considering the price tag of £58.00 for a full-size bottle. Again, this product is perfect for colder months, as this omega-packed oil will reduce the redness and any types of irritations, plus it will soften the whole complexion overnight.

4.  Le Couvent des Minimes Gardener’s Hand Healer – Travel Size 15ml worth £4.95

This cream is a saviour when it comes to dry and damaged hands, it contains at least 20% of shea butter and 7 (!) healing plants extracts. Amazing for the winter and I fancy the design of the tube. It’s recommended for people who are obsessed with gardening and DIY, I’m not one of these, but that will be a great product for intensive overnight treatment for my hands and feet.

5.   Kerastase Bain Satin 1 and Kerastase Lait Vital – Travel Size 30ml & 20ml worth £3.03

I am a huge fan of Kerastate, so I was happy to receive these 2. I did try it before and I can tell that if you are after silky, light-feeling hair – these two bottles are made for you. When it comes to Kerastase conditioner, just pretend it’s a mask and leave it on your hair as long as you can – that will bring you a better result.

6.  Eylure Brow Crayon in Mild Brown – Full Size £6.45

The color that I received is just perfect for my eyebrows and I was really happy about that, because as it tends to be with make-up products – they almost always fail to fit you, that’s why you don’t get them often in beauty boxes. However, this Eylure Crayon is amazing and I will probably buy another one after. It reminds me of the pencil I bought from well-known Anastasia Beverly Hills, but the price is 50% lower. It has quite thin point, so it’s perfect for shaping the brows and filling in.

7. Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Duo – Full Size £7.99

I was about to buy this palette few months ago, when I only started contouring my face. I did hear really good reviews on this bronzer and I think it’s considered to be the best in that price range. The colour of this bronzer is really good, it will not make your cheeks orange, but will give you very nice sunny glow. However, for me it’s not pigmented enough, so in order to see the real contour you will need to put a generous amount of the product on your skin. It’s not an option for me, as it will clog my pores immediately and I will cry later covered with not-so-sunny-and-nice blemishes. For those, who want to start contouring I will recommend to buy Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer instead, as it’s just perfect + it  has an amazing chocolate smell.

8. Ardell Natural Style Demi Wispies – Full Size £5.49

I’m not a huge fan of fake lashes and never wear them, but I will keep these anyway for some special occasion I might have.

9.Essie Nail Polish – Sample Size worth £2.66

Essie nail polishes are one of the best ones on the market. I was glad to receive that particular colour, as it looks very Christmasy and instantly set the celebration mood.

10. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick SPF15 – Full Size 3.7g £20.00

This product is a true classic and it has an army of fans. My lips were chopped few days ago, cause I wore my beloved matt lipstick for few days in a row and because of the wind my lips got really dry, then I decided to give this lipstick a try, and you probably won’t believe but my lips were fresh and healed in 4 hours. True miracle. Definitely the best lip protectant stick I got so far. And it’s amazing that I received it in a full-size, too.  Instant love.

11. Ciate Lash Lites – Full Size £16.00

I must say, I never use any other colors of mascara, apart from the classy black one. And I will never use. Luckily, I have a friend who is a fan of anime and she might need this mascara for her future cosplay costumes.

12. Mio Double Buff Dual Action Enzyme Exfoliator – Travel Size 50ml worth £7.66

This body exfoliator has fine grainy particles which feel gentle on the skin and isn’t abrasive. This has a creamy texture which doesn’t leave an oily film on the surface unlike others I’ve tried. The product is very good sized too at 50ml.

13. Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream – Travel Size worth £3.00

This is the best product you can ever have for the cuticle. I already have it in a full-size jar and I already recommended it to my friends and family. Nothing can ever make your manicure look fresh everyday, but this cuticle cream. It smells amazing thanks to lemon oil and  little goes a long way. The cream contains almond oil which nails adore and you only need to use it once a day to see instant results.

14. The Body Shop Beautifying Oil – Full Size £9.00

I was so lucky tor receive Mango flavoured body oil, as it is one of my the most favourite smells (the first is Passion Fruit). It’s a multitasking oil, that you can use for your face, body and even hair. I use mine straight after bath and I can still hear the smell in the morning after. As opposed to wetter oils this one promises to absorb quicker into skin.

15. LOLA Make Up Ultra Shine Lipstick – Full Size £12.00

I obviously like the name of the brand, but unfortunately the shade I received absolutely doesn’t fit the colour of my skin and hair. However, this is exact shade that my mother use all the time, so I already packed it for her.

16. Sleek MakeUP Mini Pout Polish – Sample Size 4.5g worth £2.49

This mini pout polish provides very natural finish to the lips, that almost look like they’ve just been kissed. It keeps lips smooth and very shiny. The colour looks much more brighter in the pot, than it actually looks like on the lips, so don’t be afraid of its’ extreme colours, you better try first to instantly fall in love with this product.

17. Invisibobble The Traceless Hair Ring – Full Size £3.75

These tiny rings were a sensation to me. I didn’t know that this thing has already been made! I usually make a pony tail before I go to bed and it means that I need to straighten my hair in a morning after, because of the pony tail line that is left on my hair. Now this problem is gone. These little rings hold hair firmly and leave no traces after you take them off. All genius things are so simple in their nature, unbelievable.
