Love Lula Beauty Box / January 2015

Sorry for a bit late review on January box, which is not available online now. However, late is better than never, right? 🙂

I already told you before that I am very impressed with previous LL boxes, which introduced me to new brands and helped me to find my new must-haves for skincare routine. I adore these boxes for being filled with organic-only products, that is the reason why I am not afraid of trying anything that they send me. I was delighted to receive Madara mask in this box, as it is a brand from Latvia, where I am originally from. Click ‘continue reading’ for a full review on each of the products I received.

1. Nourish Kale Enzyme Exfoliating Cleanser – Sample Size 2ml. RRP - £16.50

1. Nourish Kale Enzyme Exfoliating Cleanser – Sample Size 2ml. RRP – £16.50 | BUY HERE

I’ve already tried some products by Nourish in 2014, but this time I was lucky to receive multi-tasking Kale Enzymatic Exfoliating Cleanser.  The first time I’ve used it I decided to leave it on my face for 6-7 minutes, just like it’s a normal facial mask. I’ve noticed that it smells amazing and you can feel the smell of the gorgeous oils – rosemary, geranium and citrus scents. The cream itself contains lots of skin-soothing oils as well as phytoactive pomegranate enzymes which gently exfoliate. After I wash the mask off my skin felt great – like I had really flushed away all the dirt and grime of city living. Recommended.

2. Yes to Cucumbers Facial Wipes – Travel Pack RRP £1.99

Few months ago I’ve tries same wipes from this brand, but with carrot’s extract. It was interesting for me to see if these cucmber’s ones are different from those I’ve tried. And the answer is: yes, they are. I’ve found these wipes very irritating for my skin, every time I used it they left my face red and burning without any reason. Even though they are said to be hypoallergenic, I would not recommend them to use. Moreover, even if you won’t have the same reaction as I had and many other girls that left quite the same feedback, these wipes are still not very good for taking off your make-up, as you will need to scrub really hard to remove waterproof products.

3. Balance Me Rose Otto Hand Cream – Travel Size 30ml. RRP: £14.50 | BUY HERE

3. Balance Me Rose Otto Hand Cream – Travel Size 30ml. RRP: £14.50 | BUY HERE

This hand cream became the Instyle Best Buy award of 2014 and I can see why. It’s a very rich cream that absorbs quickly and leave the hands super-protected and smoothed in a matter of seconds. Perfect for dry and sensitive hands. Perfume is divine, but doesn’t feel synthetic. Recommended for all hand-cream fans.

4. Funny Bee Pretty BB Cream – Sample Size 1.5ml. RRP: £27.00 | BUY HERE

4. Funny Bee Pretty BB Cream – Sample Size 1.5ml. RRP: £27.00

I use bb creams for more than 2 years now. I’ve started from the popular Korean brands, but they were too light for me, so I switched to the Jane Iredale BB-cream that I’ve found in one of my Love Lula boxes last year, since then I never tried anything else, cause JI has everything I ever wanted from BB cream. I was hoping that this is going to be my next must-have BB cream, but  it didn’t become even one of my favorite ones. First of all, the tone of this cream doesn’t fit me at all, it looks to red on my face. Second downside – it’s too light, it doesn’t cover any impurities, such as blemishes or wide pores. I would not recommend it to someone who has a problem skin. So-So.

5. EcoTools 6 Mini Brush Set - Full Size. RRP £4.99 | BUY HERE

5. EcoTools 6 Mini Brush Set – Full Size. RRP £4.99 | BUY HERE

Ecotools is the brand that I use and love for a very long time. I have plenty of their brushed and never was disappointed with their quality, even though I have other brands that are more expensive to compare with. I consider them to be perfect for those who don’t want to spend a fortune on a single brush. Affordable and good. Recommended.

6. Madara Detox Mud Mask – Travel Size 12.5ml. RRP - £24.00 | BUY HERE

6. Madara Detox Mud Mask – Travel Size 12.5ml. RRP – £24.00 | BUY HERE

I couldn’t wait to try this Detox Mask by Madara, as it was the brand I wanted to test for a very long time, but was afraid to buy a full-size product, as they are quite pricey for me. Madara is Latvian skincare brand  that has many fans across the world because of it’s organic and effective products. I was really glad that the first product I tried from Madara was this mask, because I was in a desperate need of the reboot for my face and I this product gave me that and even more.  This Detox mud mask reminded me of the well-known Glamglow mask, which I personally don’t fancy at all and considered it to be overpriced and overrated. I’ve only left it on my skin for 5 minutes and I could feel my face burning from the very first seconds, but I was calm as I read in instruction that it’s a normal reaction and it only means that the mask is working. After I took it off I could literally see my face glowing and looking as polishes, as if I had just returned from some cool facial treatment. It perfectly tightens the pores and leaves skin matte and revitalised. Super-duper recommended.
