Review: Darphin '8 Flower Nectar Oil Creme' & Origins 'Drink Up Intensive mask'

Good morning everyone,

Autumn is a perfect time of the year for reconsidering your beauty routine and give a chance to some new products. As we all know, during summer heat (and it still could be felt in Manchester from time to time) our skin easily gets dehydrated and because of that the process of ageing becomes faster and the overall look of your skin gets worse. Today I will tell you about two products that are perfect for radiance boosting and preparing your skin for the colder months.

Origins is one of these brands that I am absolutely confident about. Every time I try a new product, I already know from the very beginning that it won’t let me down, I won’t have any kind of allergy and in the result I will get exactly what was promised in the description. Their 10-minute mask ‘Out Of Trouble’ is my absolutely must-have, because it cures my skin perfectly and sometimes I even leave it overnight to achieve even better results.

I’ve heard many good reviews about this mask as well, it is considered one of the best hydrating masks in the market, so I really had to try it. I love the idea of leaving mask overnight, there is no better feeling in the world, than waking up feeling fabulous and be happy seeing your face in the mirror noticing minor improvements that are crucial for boosting your mood.

We all know that skin depends on water for its youthful functioning. But all day long, skin loses vital moisture and the busier you are, the more it loses. This intense moisture replacement mask with avocado and apricot kernel oil deeply and instantly quenches compromised moisture reserves and builds a reservoir for tomorrow. Best for dry skin types, Japanese seaweed repairs skin’s barrier to prevent future dehydration and signs of premature aging. I love applying that type of masks when I’m flying somewhere, because in the air my skin gets dehydrated in a matter of minutes and these masks help to maintain hydration balance during the whole flight, so by the time of landing my skin looks shinier, than it was before boarding. I haven’t tried that particular mask in that kind of situation, yet, but when I do, I will update this post with my verdict.

You can also use this mask for your elbows and knees, I gave it a try and applied it on my feet before going to sleep. I also wore socks and by the morning my feet looked like I got cool pedicure while I was sleeping, not joking, it’s THAT good.

There was no doubt that I would be singing love songs to this Origins product, because their team just don’t produce bad things, that’s 100% true.

2. Darphin 8-Flower Nectar Oil Cream* | Full Size 30ml | RRP £65 | BUY HERE

I’m really glad that the first product I got to try by Darphin is their modified version of the bestselling 8-flower nectar dry oil. Now it’s a creme and it’s a fantastic one.

Darphin is the Parisian skincare brand that is famous for fusing finest botanical ingredients for their products, and for using innovative technologies, professional expertise and specialised, sensory techniques.

With its sensual smell, Darphin’s oil 8-Flower Nectar is already a cult product. Now they’ve launched a hybrid oil cream version, with ingredients including ylang-ylang, patchouli, rose and shea butter. This lush and buttery formula feels extremely nourishing. Pricey, but a little goes a long way.

I don’t usually like oily creams, but this one has a very interesting texture, at first it might look too buttery, but after few seconds at your fingers it will start melting. The idea is that this night cream works with the user’s body temperature. It eventually morphs into an emollient oil that deeply nourishes, replenishes and soothes the skin while you sleep.

This small but mighty pot of dense cream doesn’t need any accompaniment either. It’s potent stuff and packs a punch, so much so that it transformed my dry, dull, and congested skin overnight. My skin also has a tendency to get oily, and the balmy texture of this cream emulsifies and my skin drank it up like a sponge. Not only that, but it has therapeutic properties as well, becoming a sensorial experience rather than just a cream. This could it be the next cream to take over my entire routine; it pretty much does everything and more.
