The Beauty Products I’ve Tried | December 2016

DSC_0026

In December, almost all of the skincare products I’ve tried were focused on moisturising and detoxyfying my skin. There were some of the products I never tried before by my beloved Caudalie and Sisley, but also a couple of new brands that I was really excited to get to know better.

A detoxifying mask that draws out accumulated toxins from clogged pores to revitalize and invigorate the complexion. This mask is super famous for it’s ability to actually uclog pores and from what I heard from other girls who tried it – it definitely helped with battling the acne and wide pores.

My pores are very big and there is nothing much I can do about them, they are smaller after facials, but after a couple of days they are back to their normal size, so clogged pores is someting I was suffering from for a very long time. This mask helps me to get them under control. When you apply it and wait for it to dry, you can literally feel it pulling all the gunk out of your pores. This mask makes my skin glow like no other, my pores are significantly shrunk, and my skin just feels better overall. I cannot recommend it more.

Great to use before a night out or after a stressful week, it is enriched with grape marc to detoxify, pink clay and coffee to clarify, and papaya enzymes for a boost of immediate radiance.

I continue to meet new Sisley heroes from it’s ‘Tropical Resins’ range.

I’m a lucky owner of combination skin, which means that some parts of my face are dry and some are utterly oily. For those who like me, is trying to stop their T-Zone from ‘shining like a diamond’, I recommend to try that new Sisley Mattifying cream. It does wonders with my skin.

Enriched with Marshmallow, Lady’s Mantle Leaf and Java Tea Extracts, this formula soothes and softens while minimizing pores. Bamboo powder is key to the fresh, mattifying finish.

This product was my official entrance into Immunocologie world. The philosophy of the brand intriguied me before I received some of the products from the range. The founder of the brand,  Karen Ballou,  Following a diagnosis of cancer, and with over 30 years of experience in the skincare industry, understood  that the skin is the first line of the body’s immunological defence – and wanted to create a skincare offering as luxurious as it is healthy, natural and effective. These principles are the basis of the Immunocologie brand, which is uniquely focused on the source of the skin’s performance and wellbeing: its immune health.

Some of the customers see the massive difference with their skin after only 2 days. I’ve seen it after 1 use. I love that the effect of that serum is not short-termed, it actually gets to your skin’s deepest levels and you can see that your skin is glowing even if you haven’t used that product for a couple of days.

Immunocologie’s Hyaluronic Serum hydrates and softens the skin, and smooths lines and wrinkles. The serum contains natural sodium hyaluronate derived from corn, which allows the ingredient to hold a moisture level equivalent to 1,000x its own weight. It also stimulates internal production of hyaluronic acid for immediate deep skin hydration.

Immunocologie is also available in Urban Retreat at Harrods.

Anne Semonin’s mineral-rich skin care is designed to restore and re-balance stressed and confused skin. Based on the philosophy that ”each skin is unique” Anne believes in a beauty prescription – combining products to maximise their efficacy and target specific concerns. High concentrations of natural active ingredients are subjected to hi-tech processes to enhance their potency, so they work hard to keep skin hydrated, protected and glowing with radiance.

The Anne Semonin Exfoliating Mask is named slightly deceptively as it isn’t a mask that provides exfoliation. Instead, it’s a product that can be used as either a manual exfoliator or a mask.  As a mask, it mostly provides gentle cleansing and purifying with the key ingredients being Red Seaweed and Kaolin.

As a mask, this is fantastic, and after just a couple of uses, this has quickly joined the ranks of my go-to masks – not an easy achievement if you consider just how many masks I have in my possession.  This is one of the very best purifying, clay-based masks I’ve ever tried as it’s so creamy and kind to skin, yet it still has that ‘pulling out the rubbish’ feeling of a typical clay mask.  It wipes away easily to reveal very clean, plump skin that feels as if you’ve been for a facial.

Thanks to Trace Publicity who reached out to me and asked if I would like to try that hair care range. I am always looking for new products and brands for my hair, because I am a true evil towards them – I use straightener and curlers almost every day, I bleach them, I dye them, if they could talk, they would be screaming at me all day long. So, yes. That’s why I’m always up to try something new and treat my hair with new goodies.

72 hair care range seemed interesting to me because it’s made by the guys who brought over the keratin treatment from Brazil and this is their new formula. Also, because for the creators there is no difference between hair types, they are keen to offer the same amazing results to all types of hair, so their products are suitable for processed, coloured, textured, Afro-Caribbean or virgin hair.

For me, hair care should be all about moisture and nourishment, and 72 Hair have smashed it where that is considered, the products have left my hair super shiny, and I’ve loved the luxurious smell and texture that comes with using professional salon brands. Certainly a brand I’d use again.

And the last but not least, in December I got a chance to try one of the best skincare device out there – NEWA.

The device is designed by a company called AesthetiCare, who work with aesthetic clinics across the UK, providing them with clinically proven midgrade skincare and treatments for skin rejuvenation and problem skin conditions.

NEWA is a Skin Rejuvenating System, which boosts Collagen and Elastin. Collagen in the skin is not vanishing overnight, it’s a process that occurs over time. You’ll start noticing loss of firmness and the first fine lines in your thirties. As the collagen drops year by year any device that helps to boost its production will deliver a more significant result.

The device itself is a brand new advanced home-use beauty tool specifically designed (and clinically proven) to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, tighten the skin, as well as lift and firm, to leave you with a youthful looking, more radiant complexion.  NEWA is also known for helping to reduce acne scarring. It also works to prevent new wrinkles from developing too which is a bonus!

This surely is the most advanced home-use skin tightening tool available – you won’t get a more effective treatment outside of a skin clinic.

DSC_0054But how does it actually works? It uses an advanced radiofrequency technology called 3DEEP Skin Science; a unique technology derived from the ENDYMED 3DEEP professional medical device, which is used and endorsed by leading practitioners worldwide. NEWA is the only FDA cleared home-use radiofrequency device.

NEWA has a couple of power levels, 0 means the device is switched off, 1 is low heating level and 2 is high heating level. It’s recommended to start with the higher heating level, but if your skin feels too warm, it’s better to switch it to the lower hearing mode.

What the device comes with a Lift Activator Gel is specially formulated for NEWA facial treatments, ensuring that the energy is focused precisely on the device into the skin’s deepest layers. NEWA Lift Activator Gel is enriched with powerful skin tightening ingredients that are clinically proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, improve skin firmness and replenish moisture into the skin.

When you turn on your device, you need to apply the gel on the treatment area and then click one time on the power button, when the light will start blinking, start making circular movements and gently push it onto your skin, you will feel warm sensations straight away.

Of course, I don’t have many wrinkles just yet, but I found this device very useful for relaxation purposes as well as a great preparation for my skin before make-up for some special occasions.

It only takes 8 minutes for each section of your face, so it really doesn’t take a lot of your time, and it’s easy to add this gadget to your daily skincare routine.
