Temptation

Hello everyone!

Another Monday = another outfit of the day from me, this is becoming some sort of a tradition on my blog. I need to say, that I’m not really a huge fan of mini skirts, I don’t feel comfortable or confident enough when I’m wearing them. Usually I need to have a certain mood to wear a mini and also I need to be 100% sure that I don’t look silly or inappropriate, which is really easy to do when you stop your choice on mini. There are a few rules that always help me to keep my ‘mini-skirt look’ balanced.

Firstly, there is nothing more inappropriate, than wearing mini skirt for some sort of a formal events. You just can’t look professional when you are wearing skirt at the job interview, of course it depends on a role and a field you are working in, but in most of the cases – it’s a huge NO-NO. At the job interview you should put all your efforts into how to highlight your professional qualities and relevant skills, and not into distracting interviewer from them.

Another golden rule that we all should remember – don’t show too much skin, if you are wearing mini, then there is absolutely no need in wearing deep V-neck. There is a tale we love to recall in Russian, which is about a hunter who tried to hunt down two bunnies at the same time and didn’t catch any of them. The wisdom is that it’s always better to choose just one – the same thing with mini skirts and deep V-neck, you should always choose just one. Especially, there is no need to wear deep V is you are planning to wear your mini skirt with over-knee boots.

To reach an essential balance in your look, I would recommend you to wear something oversized, like a cable-knit jumper, or poncho – there are endless options, really. That’s what I did in my outfit, I decided to mix my mini skirt with embroidered oversized sweater and sleeveless coat, that created more layers and made my outfit look cute, instead of provoking.

Another rule is that you should keep in mind that distance between the hem of your skirt and your overknees shouldn’t be more than 15-20cm. There are so many others rules on how to wear mini skirt right, but I don’t support all of them. For instance, I don’t think that curvy women should avoid mini skirts, they shouldn’t avoid anything, there are always some options of how to make any single piece from the magazines work for your body type. If you are this lucky lady with the curves, then I would recommend you to choose mini skirts of thicker fabrics and to wear them with black leggings or hosiery. That would visually make your legs look slimmer and longer.

By the way, to finish my huge essay about mini skirts, I would love to highlight my new babes – overknees by Stuart Weitzman. They are puurrrfect – they are an absolute combination of magical comfort and beauty. I think they are the best out of all overknees in the world, honestly.

I hope you liked my article, please let me know your opinion in the comments section below.
